    • Introduction

Accessibility in teaching is important to enable students to study regardless of their personal circumstances. Accessibility includes both technical and didactic aspects. This package of materials is designed to support teaching staff, like you, with important tips and specific instructions on how to make their digital teaching more accessible.

The central core of the material package consists of clear checklists covering various aspects of barrier-free digital teaching. In the first section, you will find checklists for creating documents that are as accessible as possible. These include Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF. Implementation aids are also available for Word and PowerPoint. In the second section, you will find checklists for planning accessible teaching. These provide information on the advantages and disadvantages of certain teaching methods and hybrid teaching, for example, and are illustrated with examples of good practice. In addition, our material package contains a knowledge database with further basic information on topics relating to (digital) accessibility in university teaching, which you will find in the third section.

Our aim is to give you low-threshold approval for the complex topic of digital accessibility.

The majority of the materials are available for download so that they can be used flexibly and at any time and from any location.
