In this video we present the material package and give a short guide on how to use the course.

Introduction
Accessibility in teaching is important to enable students to study regardless of their personal circumstances. Accessibility includes both technical and didactic aspects. This package of materials is designed to support teaching staff, like you, with important tips and specific instructions on how to make their digital teaching more accessible.
The central core of the material package consists of clear checklists covering various aspects of barrier-free digital teaching. In the first section, you will find checklists for creating documents that are as accessible as possible. These include Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF. Implementation aids are also available for Word and PowerPoint. In the second section, you will find checklists for planning accessible teaching. These provide information on the advantages and disadvantages of certain teaching methods and hybrid teaching, for example, and are illustrated with examples of good practice. In addition, our material package contains a knowledge database with further basic information on topics relating to (digital) accessibility in university teaching, which you will find in the third section.
Our aim is to give you low-threshold approval for the complex topic of digital accessibility.
The majority of the materials are available for download so that they can be used flexibly and at any time and from any location.
Use the concrete and easy-to-implement assistance to promote digital accessibility in teaching at your university!

Here you will find information on the structure of the course to help you find your way around.

The main purpose of the forum is to exchange ideas and share experiences. Please feel free to leave suggestions and comments about the course and its content. You are also welcome to discuss new developments in the discourse on accessible digital university teaching.

Note: In addition to the checklists, use Office's integrated accessibility check to be alerted to accessibility errors when creating a document. Please note, however, that didactic accessibility errors in particular are not displayed and require a self-check.

Planning inclusive digital teaching
"Planning inclusive, digital teaching" consists of three checklists in total. The three checklists are intended to support you in planning inclusive digital teaching. The various design aspects are broken down into the context of the semester, the seminar and supplemented in the third table by measures and precautions for the atmosphere of an inclusive classroom.
Note: The three checklists are available for editing individually as progress lists in Moodle, but can be downloaded as a Word document.

Moodle
Although Moodle itself is not fully accessible, it is possible to remove or even avoid barriers caused by course creators. We have put together some information to help you make your own Moodle course as accessible as possible.
-
Video
In addition to traditional lecture recordings, explicitly media-didactically prepared video productions, such as instructional videos, screencasts or explanatory videos, have become a central component of digital university teaching. We have compiled information here to help you to make these video productions accessible.

The knowledge database is a collection of additional information on relevant topics of accessible, digital teaching. The information is selected so that it is relevant for you - the teacher. Particularly in the case of complex topics, such as compensation for disadvantages, this means that some information is merely referenced. In many places, the knowledge database is also supported by examples of good practice, so that the transfer to your own teaching can hopefully be successful.
-
The implementation aids are intended to serve as a supplement to the checklists. For each aspect from the respective checklist, you will find a detailed description of what is meant by the checkpoint, why it is important for accessibility and step-by-step instructions on how the aspect can be implemented or checked.
